On my walk today, a crow landed in a tree just ahead of me and started cawing. I stopped under the tree and took out my camera, intending to get a good silhouette of him sitting on a branch. Just as I snapped the shutter, he took off, resulting in the pic in my icon. My reaction? "Awesome." I love crows.

My car has been out of commission for a while, and today I had it towed to the dealer to get fixed. I wanted to do it last week, but because of the snow the tow truck driver refused to even try backing down my driveway. Thanks to a couple of warmish days, the snow is gone, and Morgan la Fe is finally getting that new starter. Hopefully by the weekend I'll be mobile again.

I finished off NaNoWriMo with just over 19K words. That's a lot for me. I've got a good start on the novel, a fairly good idea where it's going, and a great new habit of writing every day. I did take yesterday off, just because, but I'm back in the saddle, and it feels good. Depression isn't good for creativity, at least not for me. Having NaNo to get me motivated was a very good thing. The hardest part is always getting started. Once momentum is built, it's easier to just keep going.

I've only watched the show Mad Men a few times, and never really got into it, but I do love the style of the show. Set in the early 60's, when I was just a wee thing, the hairstyles and clothing are really great. Camelot, and all that.

Saturday morning is full of promise. The sun is shining, for now, although there is snow forecast for later. There's nowhere special that I have to be though, so that's OK.

Speaking of Gaiman, you can listen to Neil read his story "A Study in Emerald" from the Fragile Things collection over here. It's a great story, and fun to hear him read it. It's sort of Sherlock Holmes meets Cthulhu, with a twist. I do enjoy a good alternate-history story. :)
