hot enough for ya?
Jul. 5th, 2010 08:44 pmIt got up to 97 degrees today, but thankfully it's nice and comfortable here in the batcave. I got a lot of packing done, and some cleaning, and I waterproofed my stompy boots for camp.
I got a little cabin fever, though, and when I saw the gorgeous late afternoon light, I just had to go out.
( Oh, what light! )
I was of course dripping by the time I got back, but a nice cool shower took care of that.
Back to work tomorrow. Bleah. But it's supposed to be even hotter and more humid, so I might as well be in a nice, cool office.

shortest day
Dec. 21st, 2008 02:28 pmIt's been snowing steadily since before I got up this morning. So far, it looks to be a light snow, not the heavy stuff they predicted would come down. Let's hope it stays that way. Heavy snow is no fun to shovel.
It's really pretty too, viewed through the window, when I have no place to be but here. A classic New England snow, frosting everything in drifts of fluffy white. It's a good day to stay inside, reading and enjoying the quiet. I have a candle lit against the dark, which gives way after today and the light returns.

shadows and light
Mar. 28th, 2007 09:36 pmI love that it's light out in the evenings now, and the setting sun threw golden light everywhere this evening, so I went out for a walk to capture it. Click the link to see lots more!
This shot was fun: I noticed that my shadow was falling on the trees along the path, and took a self-portrait of sorts. :)
