active weekend
Oct. 12th, 2008 07:31 pmAfter some delays, B & I made it to King Richard's Faire yesterday and met up with the gang. We managed to make it to the Big Kitty show, where I took this pic of a Liger (which is a cross between a lion and a tiger, as the name suggests). Man, that is one big kitty cat! They do this bit with him where he stretches up to get a piece of meat, and he is 11 feet long. What a beautiful animal.
Since we got there so late, we didn't get to see everything, but we did manage to have some fun. It was a gorgeous day, and the drive down was spectacular. So much color everywhere!
After the faire, we drove down to Providence to see WaterFire. I haven't been in years, and it was a nice night for it. B's partner C and a friend met us there, and we wandered around taking in the sights, enjoying the fiery goodness, and devouring kettle corn.

We got back to their place quite late, and we had to be in Dorchester fairly early today, so it was a short night. Another spectacular drive (we took Route 2) into town later, we arrived at an impressive Victorian triple-decker. Our client was a lovely German woman named Katja, who needed some professional head shots. B set up her equipment while I dolled up Katja, who rarely wears makeup. I gave her a natural look, and she looked very pretty with her green eyes and cute haircut. B shot her next to the wooden mantel, and outdoors on her back porch, with leafy trees in the background. Her condo is really nice, with all natural wood and lots of fun little touches, like transoms and built-in glass-doored bookcases. It's also on the third floor, which meant carrying all B's equipment up three flights of stairs. *oof* I missed a step going down, and crashed into the wall, and now I have sore ribs. *ooof*
The drive home wasn't too bad, all things considered; there was a bit of a backup in Sturbridge, as usual, but not as bad as it was yesterday. I'm glad to be home, and I'm exhausted, so it'll be an early bedtime tonight. Thank goodness I have tomorrow off to recover!
