I walked down to my polling place to vote in the primary this morning. As it is across the street from Grandmothers' Garden, I popped over there to look at dewy flowers and herbs.

Most of the races were uncontested. The only one I wasn't sure of was D.A. I don't really like any of them, but then they're all lawyers. *g*

not really a cat on a porch )

It was a gorgeous day, and I just got back from another walk. It's so wonderful to have the windows wide open!

For the first time ever, I was proud of my choice, rather than resigned to the lesser of two evils.

Regardless if your choice, I hope you go out and vote today. Make your voice heard.

[livejournal.com profile] liz_marcs has some very important info about voter purging over at her LJ. Check it out and pass the word, especially if you live in a swing state!

I went to vote after work, and since my polling place is right across the street from Grandmothers' Garden, I whipped out my camera and snapped a few.

I exercised my rights this morning and went to vote in the primary. After much consideration, I finally decided on Obama; even though I think Hillary is just as good a choice, I think she's too divisive. I think Obama has a better chance of winning. I kind of hope that, if he wins the nomination, he picks her as his running mate (and vice-versa). Either way, how amazing is it that my top two choices are a woman and an African-American? Even though there are plenty of people in this country who will vote against either of them *because* of that fact, I think the number who would vote *for* them for the same reason probably balances out. I hope. Call me Pollyanna. *g*

It was drilled into me by my father that it was not only my right, but my duty to vote, and I take that very seriously. It only works if we participate. People who don't vote don't have the right to complain, in my opinion. When contacting your representative, it tends to have more punch if you're a voter.

I took an ad for a local Temple that made me smile. They're having an open house and special Shabbat services to attract new members, and this is the headline of the ad:
Joining a Synagogue is like getting married. So maybe you should go on a couple of dates first.
