Amelia in repose, originally uploaded by Lizzie~Belle.

A fun time was had at Conjure Cinema last night. Walter told me that he had an announcement that involved me, but wouldn't tell me what it was. When we were all gathered upstairs for the film, he made me stand up, and announced that he finally has a blog! I've been telling him for years that he needs to do this, so I was quite pleased. He had written a series of articles many years ago for Harvest magazine (remember that, [livejournal.com profile] morvenwestfield?), and he is such a repository for classic horror film knowledge, I knew he should share it with the world. Yay!

I stayed overnight, not getting to bed until after one (I know! Me!) so I slept until nearly eight this morning. Everyone was, of course, still in bed, so I took off for Holliston to have breakfast with [livejournal.com profile] ami_1. I took the wrong exit off I-495, thinking I knew better because it was route 126, and of course got lost. I ended up in Rhode Island, as a matter of fact. Oh well, I had a nice tour of Bellingham. *g* I finally found the place, and had a nice visit with S and her lovely kitty, Amelia (who is pictured above).

I ran into a little traffic on the way home, which is why I like to get going early, but it wasn't too bad. Added maybe ten or fifteen minutes to my trip. Most of those programmable signs on the Pike (the ones that usually say "Construction ahead - expect delays") said "Thanks, Ted, from the people of Massachusetts." Made me smile.

I noticed a small carnival in Westfield on the way home, and decided that it would make a nice afternoon walk to go check it out, so I changed into something lighter (it was cold last night!) and walked down there. I got some nice pictures of the new bridge, which opened to traffic last week, and some good classic car shots, but the carnival was pretty lame. Just a few cheesy rides, and a very small midway. Mostly little kids with their parents. I'll probably do a post or two on my photo blog when I feel more up to it, but in the meantime you can see my pix here.
