I woke up to snow falling gently outside, frosting the world with fluffy white. It was the light, fluffy sort of snow, easily swept or brushed off, so I went out to capture it with my camera before it decided to melt or get all slushy.
I walked down toward the river, which is conveniently about five minutes away by foot. There is a boat launch next to the bridge, and I correctly surmised that there might be a path there as well.
It goes along the river, behind the high school, and goes for quite a way, ending at the Elks Club, across from the Portuguese Club. I was treated to many stunning vistas along the way.
The snow on the flora was also very pretty.
I was very happy to be wearing my waterproof boots! It hasn't been cold enough for things to freeze over yet, and my feet would have been quite wet otherwise.
It was a lovely walk, with only the birds and squirrels for company for most of it.
I am a river person; the first body of water I learned the name of was a river, and my mother likes to tell the story about how every body of water I saw, from pond to lake to stream, was a river. Well, I was two, what do you expect? *g*
I'm very happy to have a river practically in my backyard. Which looks like this, BTW:
