Apr. 12th, 2006 04:35 pmThis morning was our semi-monthly company meeting (thank the powers-that-be that they're not monthly anymore!), and things got a bit tetchy there for a moment. It was quite bizarre. We had a fantastic March, after an abysmal January & February. Still, the negative was being emphasized, as it tends to be, and then my boss (who is the VP of sales) got up and said forget these numbers, you guys are just awesome for almost completely pulling us out of the deficit we were in two months ago. She actually had tears in her eyes. Wow. I'm so glad she's my boss!
Diane had a good idea about how to get people to go to our website, involving posting recipes online. Somehow this evolved (without her input) into her writing a cooking column, about which she is horrified. It's really perfect, though, since she is always either cooking or talking about food (or shopping for it). ;)
I had a fantastic March myself, which means I will be getting a little extra commission next week. To which I can only say, thank the gods, because this was going to be a really tight month. I mean, I didn't think my income was going to cover the outgo. That was a scary proposition. I think I might just squeak by now. Providing it takes the IRS a couple weeks to cash my check. ;)
I'm looking forward to having an extra-long weekend. One more day! Then I am off, like a prom dress. Yeah, baby. Woo!
