everybody loves a parade

I had a blast at the Strolling of the Heifers parade in Brattleboro, Vermont this morning! There were a ton of people there, and more cow-themed stuff than you can shake a stick at.



The parade fairies danced by just before the main event:



There were people on stilts, and pogo sticks:



There were classic cars and tractors:



There were people in cow costumes (even a purple one):



There were giant cows:



and even a holy cow, complete with wings & halo:



There were, of course, bands, unicyclers, and even a world-champion baton troupe:



There was a Chinese dragon, and a cow dragon:



There were horses, big & small:



There were these two buff guys in a giant wheel:



And, of course, heifers!



Don't forget the clean-up crew (yes, that *is* Wonder Woman):

It's been ages since I've been to a parade. That was fun!

We happened to be in Brattleboro back in February, and we saw the Strolling of the Heifers parade mentioned in the tourist literature. Being Midwesterners, of course we had to come back for it!

My child in Japan, animal science major grad would love this! If she's back this time next year I'm sure she will go. Beautiful bovines are her favorite. : D
