Happy Summer Solstice/ Midsummer/ Litha to all! Today is the longest day of the year (and, of course, the shortest night). I think a little Kipling is in order:

Oh, do not tell the priest our plight
for he would call it sin
but we've been out in the woods all night
a conjuring summer in

And a beautiful first day of summer it is, too. :)

What piece is that quote drawn from? It'a quite lovely and perfect for Solstice.

Happy Summer to you! It's hard to believe that June 21 has already come and gone, but there are still plenty of beers and fruity beers to be guzzled...

I know it from the song "Oak, Ash & Thorn," but it's originally a Kipling poem, I believe. It's definitely appropriate. ;)
