So, yay for Michael Phelps! I stayed up to watch his final race last night, and cheered when they won. He seems like a nice kid, and his mom is a hoot.

But, I gotta say, Mark Spitz did it in a speedo and a mustache. And who over the age of 40 or so can forget that poster of him in said speedo with his seven gold medals gleaming on that broad chest? Oh, yeah.

When we were kids, we used to go in the summer to the town pool, which was actually three pools, one of which was a diving pool. There was a guy who would do the most amazing dives off the high dive--we always called him Mark Spitz :D
