I am one of those lucky people who had to work today. Just about the only good part of working on a holiday is the commute - no school buses, fewer cars. Otherwise, it's just a long, slow day because most people think you're closed.

At least there were no bitchy readers or people carted away in ambulances today.

A big thank you to all veterans out there, both past and present. My dad was in the Navy, and most of my uncles served in the Army, some of them in various wars. They were all proud to serve their country. It's because of people like them that we are free.

23 years ago today, I moved to Massachusetts. Almost half my life ago. Sometimes it feels like I've been here forever, and sometimes it feels like it can't possibly have been that long.

I expected my commute to be smooth sailing today but it was busier than ever. I just made it to work on time and then I just made it to meditation tonight. I don't think you're supposed to arrive out of breath and sweaty. ; )

Ugh, I was also working, and I felt like the last kid to be picked in gym class. Thanksgiving is a few short weeks away...
