look who's nesting

Mr. & Mrs. Prissy are nesting down at Heritage Park. They've done this for the past few years (see this entry for one past attempt) but have yet to produce any little Prissies.
After a savage display (see above mentioned entry) when I got near the nest in the past, I expected at least an acknowledgment that I was getting too close, but Mr. Prissy was off harassing the geese, who were just swimming around minding their own business.
I guess I'm not much of a threat. *g*

There are a couple of factors in reproduction. First the male's penis has to grow into the proper shape for his lady. Her canal has a special specific turn and twist that fits her. This prevents cross breeding due to rape, which happens in many types of ducks. He has the only key.
Down side is that because of this they mate for life. Once the pair are sexually paired and successfully breeding, the male is permanently physically altared. His chances of finding a single mature female that he can fit, is slim and none.
