It's been a while since I've taken you into the woods. It was such a spectacularly beautiful morning, I headed down there right after breakfast.


The turtles were sunning themselves on a log. The one on the right was wagging his tail like a dog!





















There was a wedding party taking pictures in the park.



Someone really loves this tree. *g*







It's so nice to not be dying from the heat!

And the turtles!

When I lived in Nashville, there was a lake past where our street dead-ended. I used to fill my camera with black and white film and head down there, slog through the shallow water to take pics of the turtles on the fallen trees. The contrast between light and shadows was so awesome with B&W film.

Thank you! I usually go there in the afternoon, so it's nice to get the morning light for a change. That bridge is in full light later in the day.

That's False Solomon's Seal.

The heart on the birch tree made me smile. I like everything! Like queenoftheskies says, the bridge one is really striking. I like the feathers too, and the jewelweed flower.
