For once, I'm glad the weather dudes were wrong. They said it would rain today. Instead, we had a nice summery day, and I took advantage of it.

This muggy air makes the golden sunset light really beautiful. What a gorgeous evening.

It seems we have skipped straight to summer, as usual. That storm system that hit the midwest is headed our way tomorrow. Yikes.

Here's a sight that is becoming more frequent these days: bright colors replacing the green on local trees. The nights have been chilly (there was a frost advisory north of here last night), but the days have been pleasant.

We are on the cusp of Autumn; it comes in tomorrow night, making this the last day of summer.

Soon we'll be digging the sweaters out that we seemingly just packed away.

It's been a while since I've taken you into the woods. It was such a spectacularly beautiful morning, I headed down there right after breakfast.

With a forecast of 90 degrees today, I figured I'd better get out early if I was going to go out at all. It was nice and cool in the woods and along the river, and I found signs of summer all over the place.
