In lieu of real content, since I can't find anything substantial to say, here is a magnolia blossom from the other day.

Oh, wait, here's something: was anybody surprised by Miles' revelation about his father on LOST last night? I saw that coming ages ago. What is it with that show and daddy issues?

At least on TV, it's not. I flicked on the telly this morning, and there's this show on SciFi that I don't remember called Haunted, starring Matthew Fox from Lost. He plays a detective who sees dead people, and in this episode he's investigating a British rock band with two brothers, and there's a ring with an initial on it. Sound familiar, Lost fans? To top it off, the manager is played by the dude who plays Sylar on Heroes, and he mentions Red Shirts in one of his lines. He is playing Spock in the new Star Trek movie. Coinkydink? *g*

The sun is going down late enough that I get to enjoy the sunset when I get out of work now. Today's was especially pretty. :)

My head went all 'splody from last night's LOST. It's a good thing I taped it; I'm going to have to watch it again to begin to make any sense of it.

I'm also pretty tired, since it was on until 11. I can't usually stay awake watching TV that late, but all the plot twists kept me going on adrenaline. *g*

Now, I know you know I love this picture. But, does it look familiar?

it should )

Also happy-making: LOST is back tonight! Shirtless Sawyer goodness! *sigh*

Lost is back on Wednesday! How excited am I? Extremely. It's my favorite show ever.

I found out this morning that Jorge Garcia (Hurley on the show) has a blog. I really like his character on the show, and he seems to be as cool as I thought he'd be. I love his little story about having his picture taken with some tourists, then someone asks him if he's from Harry Potter. *g*

I'm looking forward to the premiere of Fringe on the telly tonight. It's been a while since there's been anything new on TV, especially anything genre. Since it's on Fox, I can only hope that lots of other people watch too, especially if it turns out to be as good as its premise. I'm kind of tired of being disappointed by canceled genre series.

If you wish you'd started watching Lost from the beginning, you're getting a second chance! They're going to start showing it on SciFi next Monday. I'll be watching to get my Sawyer fix. *g*

I was a little skeptical of the dire warnings about severe storms from Weatherbug today, since they didn't seem to me to be all that severe, but I saw several trees and limbs down on my way home from work. Whoa!

OK, today was a real Twilight Zone kind of day. This afternoon, it was getting quite dark out and there were rumblings of thunder, so instead of going out walking, I settled in to catch up on BSG and rewatch the season ender of Lost (all on the same tape). It got so dark, in fact, that I turned on a lamp. As the thunder got closer and the rain started to come down, all of a sudden the lamp went out. The light in the kitchen went out. The computer shut down. But the television was still on. And it stayed on. I continued watching the tape, and about an hour later, all the lights came back on.

Weird.

Later on, the sun actually came out, so I got in a walk after all. Pictured is a lovely little daisy-like flower from Grandmothers' Garden.

I'm still puzzled about the TV. And it seems to be getting dark out again.

Doo doo doo doo...

Busybusy this morning! Unfortunately, that put me way behind (not to mention the fact that I worked two fewer days this week), so I didn't finish typing in ads until way after 12:30. Usually, I'm done by quarter after, and I'm waiting for Kim to finish up. She beat me for once!

Of course, it was those darn network ads, which are the bane of my existence. I hate them with every fiber of my being.

It was also the picky customer who thinks he's a designer (they all do, really), and wanted nearly impossible things from a 2" square ad. But! Leo pulled through, and they were happy. I owe that man cookies.

I've had more than my share of difficult customers this week, which is doubly remarkable due to the shortness of said week. Mercury retrograde, much? Sheesh. Alas, the weekend is nearly here, and they will have to vent their ire on someone else for a couple of days. Such a pity. :P

I don't remember if I mentioned this before, but I'm in the midst of reading Mary Shelley's Frankenstein. Another one of those books you'd think I'd have read years ago, but never actually got around to. They had it at the library, there was a long waiting list for the new Stephanie Plum, and so I checked it out. It's quite different from what I expected, and also quite different from any film adaptation that I've seen, even the ones purported to be faithful to the book. I have to admit, though, that as I was reading the section with the old man and the violin, my mind went directly to Mel Brooks' Young Frankenstein. *g*

I got to squee over last night's episode of Lost with the assistant editor today, who is the only other person here who watches it, as far as I know. I miss having people to squee over shows with; I know there are tons of online outlets, but it's not the same as face-to-face squeeage. I just don't watch the same shows as most of my coworkers.

It looks like it's going to be a rainy weekend, which makes me not feel so bad that I couldn't swing the SEF retreat up in Deerfield. Part of the appeal for me is being able to amble about in the woods, which isn't as much fun in the rain. I hope those of you who do go, though, have a lovely time. Think of me, and remember me to the trees. :)

Have a lovely weekend, all!

Tomorrow night is the big season finale, and it looks like it's going to be a doozy. But then, they always are. Kristin from E! has some previews here. Warning - there are spoilers! Don't look if you don't want to know!
