Nov. 13th, 2014 07:54 pmI had new windows installed in my apartment today. Hopefully this will positively affect my heating bills this winter! The guys who did the installation were nice, and cleared out for a bit while I had a phone interview. Hopefully the interview went well; I really can't ever tell. It always seems to go well, but then I don't hear back, and don't get any feedback. This one was through an agency, so maybe I'll get some feedback through them. I have hopes for this one, because it's a marketing position and not sales, and that's what I'd really like to be doing. It would be a good entry into marketing, which is hard to break into.
Anyhoo. My apartment is small, and my furniture was scattered all over the place, so I walked up to the park while they finished up. I saw a couple of turtles sunning themselves on a log sticking out of the river, and downstream I watched a swan harass some geese. He reminded me so much of our Mr Prissy near my old job; he swam by them purposefully, with his wings arched, then launched into an attack.
Silly beasts. The guys finished up soon after I got back, and moved on to the rest of the house (there are three apartments). I do notice the difference; I can't feel a draft, which I often did before. So yay, new windows, and fun swan pix. Not bad for a Thursday.
