I had new windows installed in my apartment today. Hopefully this will positively affect my heating bills this winter! The guys who did the installation were nice, and cleared out for a bit while I had a phone interview. Hopefully the interview went well; I really can't ever tell. It always seems to go well, but then I don't hear back, and don't get any feedback. This one was through an agency, so maybe I'll get some feedback through them. I have hopes for this one, because it's a marketing position and not sales, and that's what I'd really like to be doing. It would be a good entry into marketing, which is hard to break into.

Anyhoo. My apartment is small, and my furniture was scattered all over the place, so I walked up to the park while they finished up. I saw a couple of turtles sunning themselves on a log sticking out of the river, and downstream I watched a swan harass some geese. He reminded me so much of our Mr Prissy near my old job; he swam by them purposefully, with his wings arched, then launched into an attack.



Silly beasts. The guys finished up soon after I got back, and moved on to the rest of the house (there are three apartments). I do notice the difference; I can't feel a draft, which I often did before. So yay, new windows, and fun swan pix. Not bad for a Thursday.

The classifieds were done extra early today, so now I am left with all this time until I can go home, and not a whole lot to do. Drat. I'm by myself again, so I can't make calls. Darn.

Neither of the potential employers who called me worked out; one was just too far away, and the other wasn't a stable enough income to justify making the switch. I'm just not ready to go to all commission, especially in an industry I know nothing about. It would take way too long to get to a decent (and dependable) income. At least here I can count on a certain amount each week, even if it is pitiful.

Tomorrow morning is the Gem, Mineral & Fossil Show at the Big E. I got a pile of free tickets, because they advertised with me. There's a bunch of us meeting there to ooh and aah over the pretty, shiny things. I can't afford to buy anything, but it's probably just as well... I have enough stuff already. But I am a magpie... shiny! Pretty! Oooooh!
