We're back in the deep freeze, so I'm back to posting pictures of spring. I didn't think you'd mind. *g*
I've been alternating between sympathy and amusement while watching my friends & cousins in Texas complain on Facebook about the cold. I know they're not used to it, but now they have a little taste of what we've been experiencing. I hope it gets warmer soon for all of us. At least they don't have two feet of snow on their roofs like we do. O_o
Speaking of snow, earlier in the week they were talking about another "snow event" for tomorrow, but today they're saying it will go out to sea. Thank goodness for small favors.
If you're not reading pjthompson's LJ, go over there now and enjoy the eerie and lovely story and song she shared today. Both gave me chills.

The remnants of tropical storm Nicole blew through today, in a deluge of wind and water and flying leaves. This umbrella was sitting out on the dock drying, and I liked the way the light caught it.
I'm feeling rather beaten down and numb, even more than is usual for a Friday*, so I'm looking forward to vegging out for the evening. I think I'll get pizza makings on the way home. That sounds comforting.

Oct. 30th, 2007 01:41 pmI started reading cmpriest's latest book, Not Flesh Nor Feathers (I hope I got that title right) at lunch today, thanks to perseph12. I just love Cherie's writing, and I'm looking forward to diving back in this evening.
If you like supernatural chick lit, check outmindyklasky's Jane Madison books, the latest of which is Sorcery and the Single Girl. You'll gobble them up. :)

I'm feeling very jealous of all the folks on my f-list who are going to World Fantasy this weekend. It's in one of my all-time favorite towns, Saratoga Springs (I grew up just a few miles from there), and I would looooove to be there with all those creative minds. *sigh* I hope you all have a fabulous time, and bring back lots of great stories!
