I decided to do a little rearranging in my bedroom the other day. Last week when the window guys were here I had them move my dresser over a few inches closer to the far wall, leaving a bit more space. I moved the bookcase and shelves I had along that wall, and moved my bed there. I moved my desk, replaced it with the bookcase, and put the shelves in front of the window where the head of my bed had been. It changed the whole dynamic of the room, essentially breaking it into two different spaces. I have a little more tweaking to do, and I might swap the shelves for one of the bookcases in the living room, but I already like it better.

I discovered at the same time that the TV in my bedroom is dead. It's my larger set, a 22" clunker I've had for probably 15 years. That bummed me out, especially since I'm not in a position to replace it right now. So I will have to make do with my 13" set, which I've been using more anyway. Such is life. I probably watch too much TV anyway.

I had a couple bouts of insomnia this past week, which I don't think were related to the furniture move, but one never knows. I resisted taking a nap yesterday, and was pleased to sleep through the night for about seven hours straight. That almost never happens, and shows just how tired I was.

Today promises to be a nicer day than what we've had lately, so I plan to get outside and enjoy it. I can save the further organizing for when it rains later in the week.

I just had a fabulous idea for making more space, this time in the bedroom. I have a small dresser that I got from my old packrat landlady (yes, [livejournal.com profile] corachaos, that landlady), and I started wondering if it would fit in the space between the bathroom & bedroom doors, where I now have one of those modular, plastic shelving units. I whipped out my handy tapemeasure, and voila! It would fit. Some further measuring determined that I could actually put the shelves on top of the dresser, thus making even more space. Of course, I'm not sure if that would work, but it's worth a try. So, today is another day of moving stuff around. I so need to clean off those shelves, anyway; they're full of stuff from my ebay days, most of which can be tossed or packed away for now, plus various & sundry 'deal with later' items.

Now, to decide what to do with the rest of the bedroom. Some of the stuff I can move on my own, but I'm eventually going to need help moving the dresser (once I decide where to move it). Well, I could probably do that myself if I cleaned it off and took out all the drawers, but that's a job for another day. Little steps: that's the way to do it. :)

Plus, it's laundry day. Second load is in the dryer now.

It's amazing what a difference a good night's sleep (and quiet!) makes.
