Downriver from where I was yesterday, the Little River gathers at the mill and is partially frozen over where it ponds at the waterfall.
A couple of logs got stuck on the falls. The same thing happened last year, but they were dislodged when the river overflowed in the spring.
The sun actually came out for a few minutes this afternoon, after I got back, of course. Now, we wait for the snow they say is coming. Lots of it, they say. The sky grows dark, thick with clouds, and I wonder if I'll be getting out in the morning. In like a lion, indeed.
