Last night's Pirate Adventure was a blast! A bunch of us dressed up (Nancy here went all out) and everybody had a good time. The movie was fun, if a bit overlong & bloated in spots, but we all got into the swashbuckling spirit and enjoyed it.

I had headed over to ami_1's place after work, where we had pizza and lounged on the deck before the skeeters chased us back inside. It was a short hop over to the theatre, where the crew from The Reminder were already set up with the treasure chest full of pirate booty. Even the publisher put on a kerchief, and thanked everyone for coming before the movie started.

We didn't stay through the credits (even though I'd heard there was an Easter egg) because, well, nature was calling, and it was getting late. Did I mention that it's a long movie? It's looooong. But worth seeing if you enjoyed the first two. Just don't get a large drink. ;)

This morning someone used the the paper cutter behind my desk. THWACK!!!!

I nearly jumped out of my skin. I had to explain to my co-worker I had just gone to the movies.

It has to be a good movie if I can sit through all the violence and still enjoy it. : D

Movies like that have cartoon violence, which isn't *quite* as disturbing (although it *was* kind of gross in a couple of places). It's the gratuitous, graphic stuff that bothers me. I'll never understand the popularity of slasher flicks!
