oh, great

Some lovely person has coopted my work email address and used it to send spam. I keep getting 'undeliverable' and 'out of office' replies in my inbox, with spam subject lines. Lots of them. Lots and lots. It's quite annoying. If you get spam today, it might just be from my email address. Sorry about that. *g*

This is what happens when your email address is on a website, I guess. Lovely.

I had a ton of spam waiting for me this morning, and one jumped out at me and made me laugh:
geosynchronous bottle of beer

Hee!

I got my first spam comment today. Ironically, it said "this is not spam." But it was. So I deleted that sucker.

I cleaned off all the paper hanging around on my desk, which turned out to be quite a lot. It seems much bigger now! I got frustrated because I couldn't find something when a customer called me this morning (it turns out that I had filed it, but you just never know). That's the problem with having a lot of desk space- I tend to fill it up before I do anything about it. Of course, I do that with my small desk at home too, but that takes a lot less time (and paper) to fill up. I really do need to get rid of more clutter in my life. That's as close as I'm going to get to a New Year's resolution, but then it's always my intention to be more organized. Once in a while, it becomes a necessity. *g*

I framed my photos this morning (they look so cool all framed and professional!), and Kitti & Liz took them over for me with theirs at lunchtime. The exhibit opens on January 10th, with the gala reception on the 25th. Any other locals who want to go, let me know!

I'm here by myself for the rest of the afternoon. I do believe I am the only one on this side of the building, even. Which is good and bad. Bad because it's boring, but good because I can pretty much do whatever I want, as long as the phone gets answered. The only real work I have to do is proof my ads, which is almost done. And wait for the classifieds.

I've decided to stay home for New Year's Eve; Ogunquit is a really long drive, and the weather is going to be iffy at best on Monday (sorry, James! I'll make it up to ya). I'm thinking of making crab cakes, and watching movies. Exciting, I know. I'll probably fall asleep before midnight. *g*

I haven't posted fun spam subject lines for a while, so here are a few I received this week:
repudiation innovator
my alphabetica
platoon meticulous
not proserpine is manhood
piggy bank orgasm

Ooh! Classifieds are here. Time to do some actual work. :)

I finally remembered to bring both the software *and* the cable for my camera to the office, so that I can upload pictures from here. I went down to Heritage Park at lunch, which was cold & windy, and snapped a few shots. I had noticed this spot of lichen from the car, and had to get out and capture it. There's also a shot of the daddy-long-legs I found on a crabapple tree. :)

I had a ton of spam waiting for me this morning, and two of them tickled my funny bone: "ineffective spinster" and "rainy scamper." I wonder what would make a spinster ineffective? Marriage?

While I'm waiting for the final proof, I thought I'd share this week's spam subject lines with y'all:
shoplifting sarcasm
ethereal sensitively
carnal wren
of exegenesis at mannerism
workaholic evangelical

Hopefully we'll be done soon, and I can go home at a decent hour. If it's still nice out later, I may go for an evening walk. I've been too much the slug lately; since it's dark so early now, I'm loathe to leave the house once I get home. I'm feeling the need for movement.

Things are in the expected chaos out back in the art room, due to the switchover to OSX. On top of that, add server & email problems, and you have near hysteria in the art department. We were looking at a very late day, because on top of all the above, they're also having trouble with logos and pictures in the classifieds. So Kim volunteered to come in tomorrow morning to finish proofing the classifieds (she lives about ten minutes away) and just leave early today, instead of both of us sitting here, twiddling our thumbs, until gods know how late. So, yay, I can actually get out on time on a Friday for once! It's been a while. Hopefully by next week they'll have ironed out some of the kinks in the system. *fingers crossed*

Spam subject line of the day: "Secret Spellbound/Think Grabbed." Runners up: "Phonetic worthless," "derivation obstruction," and "terse revile." It was a good day for spam.

They bought us lunch again today, perhaps in anticipation of the hard day we were going to be having. It was quite yummy, and there were even cookies. Al made apple crisp, which, warmed in the microwave, was quite delicious. He's our own little Emeril, that Al. Tuesday, we're having a Halloween chili cook-off. I'm too lazy to make chili for it, so I will bring Fritos or cheese or something instead. And Beano.
